PATOS audience favorite Dave Wickerham returns for his fourth concert in Pittsburgh with a musical variety program spotlighting music of the 1970s — the decade in which PATOS was founded! Pop songs, TV themes, movie music, show tunes… you’ll be surprised, delighted, and enveloped in the sumptuous, room-filling, far out sound of the Mighty WurliTzer. We ain’t just a woofin’… brush up your leisure suit or slip into your daisy dukes (if you dare!) and join us for a fun-filled, light-hearted escape from the world of today. Nathan Avakian, one of the most exciting theatre organists in the country today, is resident organist for the International Youth Silent Film Festival. Enjoy highlights from the festival — delightful short films bursting with humor and creativity from filmmakers age 20 and under — with Avakian’s live hand-played accompaniment. Also on the bill: an unusual selection of thrilling musical numbers, from the music of Bruno Mars and Britney Spears to Henry Mancini and Disney/Pixar films — all on the Mighty WurliTzer! PATOS is proud to launch the week-long Pittsburgh Silent Film Festival with a screening of Buster Keaton’s celebrated 1923 comedy Our Hospitality. Keaton returns to his Appalachian home where he falls in love with a young woman… the only problem is her family has vowed to kill every member of his family! Don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience this hilarious and timeless classic as it was meant to be seen: on the big screen with thrilling, room-filling live theatre organ accompaniment by renowned musician Jay Spencer. PATOS and the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum team up to present trolleys in silent films. Organist Clark Wilson, a PATOS favorite, accompanies Harold Lloyd’s 1924 comedy classic Girl Shy, including one of the greatest, most exhilarating chase sequences ever filmed! The program also includes an original 2023 silent film shot on one of the Museum’s beautifully restored streetcars. One show only!

Experience the thrilling aviation spectacular Wings with live theatre organ accompaniment, just as was intended upon its studio release. The film, starring heartthrobs Buddy Rogers and Clara Bow (the “It Girl” of the 1920s) won the first ever Best Picture Oscar in 1927. Wings features tremendously exciting cinematography while also serving up a charming romance. Renowned organist Peter Krasinski provides the exciting live musical score. One showing only!
